The slipping sun illuminates this horse’s blue eye, making it appear golden. Actually, everything–the landscape, the horses, and very air itself–was bathed in an amazing golden-rosy red hue for several minutes. Right after this, as if on cue, the horses stopped grazing and marched away, single file, up and over the mountaintop. It was an amazing summertime sunset then an amazing illustration of cooperation and instinct.
